The 2020 annual meeting will take place at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA from February 28th to March 1st. The theme for the conference is Rapid Religious Cultural Change, organized around the question “Why do religious beliefs at times change very quickly and what kinds of societal impacts do these changes have?”
The meeting and registration will take place on the second floor of the UGA Miller Learning Center (700 S Lumpkin St, Athens, GA 30602). Free Parking at the University of Georgia is available from 6 pm Friday to Sunday afternoon in the Hull Street Parking Deck (400 S Hull St, Athens, GA 30605) and all day Saturday and Sunday at the Tate Center Parking Deck (705 S. Lumpkin St. Athens, GA 30605).
For those driving to SECSOR, please be sure and pre-order an ECU parking permit ($5 for the entire conference) at this link:https://epay-banner.ecu.edu/C20694_ustores/web/classic/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCTID=1178
You also have the opportunity to pre-order a boxed lunch for either one or two days.
When you arrive in Greenville, NC, the easiest way to obtain your parking permit and park your car for the conference is to follow the attached map showing 10th street at the Brewster Building on the ECU campus. Pull into the one-way driveway in front of the Brewster Building from 10th street. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Brewster+Building,+E+10th+St,+Greenville,+NCemail@example.com,-77.3645865,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x89aee7f194848df9:0xa2a1f0c7ef988eb5!8m2!3d35.6044918!4d-77.3623978
Several of our Religious Studies Majors will be in the parking lot in front of Brewster with the parking permits, campus maps, and lists of those who have pre-ordered parking permits. The students will be there from 1- 5 PM on Friday. You can receive your permit there and continue through the one-way driveway. There is a traffic light to help you make a left turn back onto 10 street. When you are again on 10th, you will see the B1 Parking lots at College Hill Drive. Your permits are good for all B1 lots during the conference.
Those attendees who do not arrive until Saturday will need to pick up their parking permits on the second floor of the Bate Building at the Registration table. I hope the link below will help you find the building before you receive a campus map with the permit.

Please note that this is a different Atlanta-area location than previously announced, since renovations at our planned location are not yet completed. We trust that the Buckhead location will meet our needs.
Due to the change in venue, we have a smaller block of reserved rooms for the meeting. It is very important that you make your room reservations as early as possible.
See you in Atlanta!
I am glad to say that we are ready to resume registration for the 2018 annual meeting. The location has changed. Due to construction issues out of our control, we had to identify and negotiate a contract with a new site. We will now be meeting at the Buckhead Marriott and Conference Center.

- Check your own listing to make sure that your name and presentation title are correct. If corrections are needed, send them to ED@relse.org.
- If you indicated that you need A/V setup, your session should be marked with “A/V Room Required.” If it is not marked, and you indicated A/V needs when you submitted your proposal, please contact the chair(s) of your section (not the ED). Also, remember that you are responsible for bringing your computer and projector; SECSOR provides the screen and cart. (A projector will be available for the Undergraduate Research sessions only.) Most universities make portable projectors available to faculty. If you have difficulty obtaining a projector, contact the presider of your session or the chair(s) of your section.
- All presenters need to be registered for the meeting. Please preregister if possible!
Students at institutions in the Southeast Region are invited to submit papers for the Undergraduate Sessions, sponsored by SECSOR. Open to all topics, the sessions will be composed of the papers considered the best submissions by an interdisciplinary committee. Students should submit completed papers that reflect original student research of an appropriate length for presentation (approximately 12 double-spaced pages). No paper over 15 double-spaced pages, regular size font, will be considered; one submission per student. On a cover page, please include contact information for the student and a faculty sponsor who has reviewed the submission. Complete papers are to be submitted through the Google Docs link no later than December 15, 2017. The link is available at the “Proposal Submission Form” tab at the top of the SECSOR home page. Questions may be directed to the program chairs: for AAR, Dr. Joseph Winters (Joseph.Winters@duke.edu); for SBL, Dr. Phillip Michael Sherman, (Phillip.Sherman@maryvillecollege.edu).
All undergraduate papers are automatically considered for the Undergraduate Paper Prize.
